Why I Built Strong Club
After coaching hundreds of women who wanted to feel confident lifting weights, get back to the outdoor adventures they love, and stop falling off track when life gets chaotic, I created Strong Club to give you structure that bends with your life — so consistency finally feels doable.

Hi! I'm Macklen.
I’m a strong believer that every woman should lift heavy things. That’s why I specialize in weight lifting and mobility for women.
I was born and raised in a woodland area of Kansas City. I fell in love with fitness during graduate school while making durational performance art, video art and kinetic sculpture. I compressed my body into metal sculptures, held awkward body shapes while scaling walls, and flung myself at pillars for cold hugs. It was all quite weird and fun.
My focus then morphed into learning and teaching about the body. I started as a Yoga Teacher and eventually became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer.
I offer both in-person personal training sessions, and customized training programs you can do on your own time.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
If you're working out at-home instead of in a gym, I will recommend you buy a few pieces of equipment. It won't cost you more than $100 (and it'll last a lifetime). If you prefer to start out with bodyweight exercises or what you have right now, we can do that for you.
Once you're registered for Strong Club, you'll fill out an assessment form so I can fully understand your fitness goals and give you specific recommendations on equipment.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WANT IN MY PROGRAM? I'VE NEVER DONE SOMETHING LIKE THIS BEFORE
Totally normal — most people aren’t sure at first.
When you join, I’ll walk you through a short intake and we’ll clarify your goals together.
I’ll learn what you want, what you don’t want, your schedule, and your equipment, then build a program that fits you.
No, you don't need a gym membership. Quite a few Strong Club members do 100% of their workouts from home.
Do the workouts on any day that suits you and your schedule.
If the "Tuesday workout" doesn't get done until Friday, that's okay. If you do the MWF workouts on Friday, Saturday & Sunday instead - do it!
Plus, you can always go back and complete any missed workouts. They're archived for you.
If you want to incorporate weight training into your routine, I recommend doing just 2-3 lifting sessions per week. That way you can have a consistent routine but keep the things you really love to do at the forefront.
